The Polaris Position Fit Inventory for Teachers and the accompanying interview guides are pre-developed to fit a broad range of organizations. Minimal administrative set-up and only 1-2 hours of training (conducted via telephone and the web) are required to begin using the procedures.

Optionally, organizations can also work with Polaris to tailor the Polaris systems to their specific needs. This process typically begins with an efficient job analysis to define the district’s job requirements. It then proceeds to a tailored construction of test modules that are “shaped” to fit the district’s needs.

As appropriate, statistical validation of the tailored modules can be performed to verify their appropriateness and effectiveness. The validation stage can also provide information on how best to refine the tests to optimize the prediction of success on the job.

When Polaris tailors tests, it typically is able to build upon pre-developed sets of items from its “library” of pre-written and pre-tested items. As a result, the tailoring process is extremely efficient and cost-effective.
